Mr. Brian Heaney is the senior investigative consultant for Specialized Risk Control (SRC). He actively manages potentially violent situations and concerning matters with collaborative intervention strategies.
Law Enforcement Experience
Mr. Heaney developed Specialized Risk Control after a 30-year career with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) in California. While with the OCSD, he was responsible for investigating and resolving various high-profile cases; including, complex cold case homicides, local and regional narcotics investigations, violent armed robberies, sophisticated commercial burglaries, organized crime, and career criminal apprehension.
He spent 12 years as a member of the OCSD Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) where he planned and implemented high-risk security operations and trained law enforcement and private entities in active shooter response.
And he led a major crime unit where he was responsible for overseeing critical investigations, directing undercover operations, threat mitigation, conducting security assessments, and evaluating the current level of risk.
Private Investigations
Since 2012, Mr. Heaney has consulted and investigated cases involving sensitive and confidential investigations ranging from suspicious deaths, threats of workplace violence, threats to school safety, threats to individuals and families, domestic violence, child custody, hostile intimidation, threats of sabotage, unwanted pursuit, and felony stalking; providing countermeasure resources to minimize vulnerabilities with active surveillance, comprehensive background research, and state of the art security and surveillance systems.
Consulting
SRC manages cases with collaborative strategies involving legal counsel, Human Resources, mental health specialists, private security, and law enforcement.
Our goal is prevention-focused with early intervention and a comprehensive management strategy, providing risk mitigation with problem resolution.
